The Cochrane Airways Group (CAG) is part of the Cochrane Collaboration, an international not-for-profit organisation. Its aim is to make up-to-date, accurate information about the effects of healthcare readily available world-wide by producing systematic reviews of the effects of healthcare interventions. These reviews are published in the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews, part of The Cochrane Library, the definitive resource for evidence-based health care. The CAG is based at St George's University of London in South London, UK. We are funded by the UK government's Department of Health, via its research funding body, the National Institute of Health Research.
Each of the Collaboration’s review groups is responsible for coordinating the preparation of reviews in a particular area. The CAG assists review authors in producing and maintaining systematic reviews of efficacy and safety of treatments used in the management of chronic airways disease such as asthma and COPD. The Group also maintains a specialized register of controlled trials in chronic airways disease which is made available in the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials (CENTRAL), also published on the Cochrane Library.
Instructions for registering a title with the CAG are provided in the Airways Group resources page.
